De Verbouwing

Isa Hoes steps into the shoes of plastic surgeon Mathilde. Together with her husband Rogier and their daughter, she seems to lead the perfect life. But behind that facade, everything is falling apart. While Mathilde opens her brand new, state-of-the-art private clinic, her own home is in ruins due to a completely derailed renovation. Rogier is struggling with burnout, and their daughter escapes the chaos by retreating to the garden shed.

When Mathilde is forced to accept help from her dubious ex Johan, she finds herself in a dangerous game with no way out. Slowly but surely, she becomes entangled in a suffocating web of deception, lies, and betrayal…

Edwin Jonker, who was previously seen in Nieuwe Buren, plays both the role of the burnout-plagued husband Rogier and the charismatic but unreliable Johan. The role of the daughter is portrayed by young talent Jenell Tedjai.

De Verbouwing is a continuation of the collaboration between author Saskia Noort and producer Senf Producties that began with Nieuwe Buren. In the coming years, they will join forces to bring Saskia Noort's books to the stage. Saskia Noort on the collaboration: "I am super proud of this collaboration with Senf Producties and I have every confidence that Senf will honor my books. Previous experience with the collaboration and the success of the play Nieuwe Buren have given me this confidence."
