After playing the role of Edna Turnblad in the successful musical Hairspray for a season, Richard Groenendijk is back with a brand new solo performance; ‘Fortunately, you still have me’.

Groenendijk has now become an integral part of Dutch theaters. His previous show 'Better for Everyone' was received with acclaim by both the press and the audience, and he was awarded the prestigious 'Poelifinario' for this performance, the award for the best cabaret program of that season. This is an award he has received for the second time in his career.

According to the press, Groenendijk is versatile. In reviews, he is described as coarse, subtle, charming, sensitive, serious, and above all, hilariously funny. A man who delivers a bloodbath of cheerful insults, but always makes room for softness and valuable reflections. A mercilessly comedic entertainer at the top of his game. As one reviewer wrote about his previous show: “Truly all brakes are off, and he sets Carré on fire. Then the laughter ripples through the hall, just as we knew it from Toon Hermans.”

In 'Fortunately, You Still Have Me,' Groenendijk again takes the audience by the hand through his life. A colorful life in which there is always a fire to extinguish.
